Rihanna Stalker Arrested

Rihanna has had to deal with more than her fair share of stalkers, and the latest is a homeless man in New York City. A 53-year-old man named Kevin Mcglynn was arrested for stalking and harassing the pop superstar via hand-delivered and profanity-filled letters to her home in Soho. According to reports, surveillance cameras caught Mcglynn on three different occasions this month alone, delivering the creepy letters to an employee of the singer.

According to the New York Daily News, Mcglynn “repeatedly called her a b–ch,” and threatened to “bum (rush) in her apartment” in the letters.

The obsessed man reportedly went to her building on Lafayette St. in Manhattan around 6:30am and again after midnight on July 8. He made another visit on July 11 around noon, and was arrested at about 6pm that Thursday. The police were able to track him after he accidentally dropped his benefits card in the building. Court documents state that Mcglynn also sent at least four letters to her home in California.

“The nature of these letters (is) confusing. They all do indicate a personal relationship, as I indicated before, that simply does not exist,” Assistant District Attorney James Vinocur told the judge.

In 2013, a 26-year old from Massachussetts named Robert E. Melanson was found guilty of trespassing after he was discovered on the roof of Rihanna’s home in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles. He’d been there for roughly three days.

In December 2012, a man was found trespassing at her home in Barbados. He got within a few feet of the singer before security intervened. Shortly thereafter, another stalker attempted to break into her home but entered her neighbor’s house by mistake and slept in their bed, thinking it was Rihanna’s.

Apollo Nida and Phaedra Parks to Split Soon

Things got worst for Apollo Nida and Phaedra Parks relationship. Phaedra Parks did not show up to the recent sentencing for Apollo Nida this past month.

In a recent radio interview posted by TMZ, Nida discusses Parks and explains that he’s angry with her for distancing herself from him during his sentencing. And when asked if his marriage will survive his prison term, he gives a shocking response.

“I doubt it,” said Nida. “I mean my wife didn’t even show up for my f—–g sentencing. So, you know, I’m still kind of salty about that.”

But for Nida, the important thing right now is to focus on his sons.

“I love my kids and coming from a non-mother, non-father background, at the end of the day, I feel most sad and disappointed that I let my little man down,” said Nida.

Parks can take advantage of the Georgia, law that allows you to divorce your spouse if they’re sentenced to two years or more in prison. This means that the relationship can resolve it self sooner than later.

Why did Lebron James Leave Miami for Cleveland?

NBA superstar Lebron James has officially announced his return to the Cleveland Cavaliers. He issued a lengthy statement to Sports Illustrated explaining his decision. The news that the Cavaliers had emerged as a frontrunner to sign James came as a shock to many, because Cleveland owner Dan Gilbert blasted the superstar so angrily in a letter that was posted on the Cavaliers website shortly after James signed with the Miami Heat in 2010.

But James says this is about home and family and fans–not owners and rosters.

Reallylebron copy

Remember when I was sitting up there at the Boys & Girls Club in 2010? I was thinking, This is really tough. I could feel it. I was leaving something I had spent a long time creating. If I had to do it all over again, I’d obviously do things differently, but I’d still have left. Miami, for me, has been almost like college for other kids. These past four years helped raise me into who I am. I became a better player and a better man. I learned from a franchise that had been where I wanted to go. I will always think of Miami as my second home. Without the experiences I had there, I wouldn’t be able to do what I’m doing today.

I went to Miami because of D-Wade and CB. We made sacrifices to keep UD. I loved becoming a big bro to Rio. I believed we could do something magical if we came together. And that’s exactly what we did! The hardest thing to leave is what I built with those guys. I’ve talked to some of them and will talk to others. Nothing will ever change what we accomplished. We are brothers for life.  I also want to thank Micky Arison and Pat Riley for giving me an amazing four years.

Deuces! Indeed! Apollo Nida has officially been sentenced to 8 years in federal prison for cashing stolen checks and laundering more than $2.3 million through fraudulent bank accounts.

Nida served time in state prison (2003 to 2009) on a RICO charge, federal racketeering, for altering Vehicle Identification Numbers on stolen cars.

Apollo Nida married reality starlet Phaedra Parks in 2009, and they have two sons, Aiden and Dylan.

He was given a voluntary surrender option and is expected to turn himself in at a later date.

Houston Carnival Marked with Violence

Picture-3 The annual Houston Caribbean Carnival has grown into one of the nations most attended multicultural festivals during the summer.  The event traditionally takes place during the fourth of July weekend. This year’s festivities was marked with tragedy as revelers attending the annual Jouvert (Paint,Mud,and Water) fete, was abruptly interrupted by gunfire, which left party goers scrambling for cover. Four men are injured, two women were trampled in the meele trying to leave the scene, the shooter is still at large. Many Caribbean festivals are safe, especially in the Southern states, such as Atlanta and Miami. However, this year’s surrounding events did not have  adequate security, which created the opportunity for this tragic turn of events. There’s no real idea of what went wrong last night, how someone was allowed to bring a gun inside of a venue that held 5,000 people trying to party on the Fourth of July. There are reports of their being outside security and off-duty police officers but none of the 30 or so that were hired were inside the venue when the shooting took place.

Pharrell Williams and Missy Elliott :BET Awards 2014

Pharrell Williams opened the show with an energetic rendition of “Come Get It Bae” surrounded by a bevy of cheerleaders, and was joined by surprise performer and fellow Virginia native, the amazing Missy Elliott, who brought the crowd to their feet to “Pass That Dutch.” Williams became a familiar face on the stage after winning both “Best Male R&B/Pop Artist” and “Video of the Year,” and again coming on to present music icon Lionel Richie with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Young Money and Beyoncé took home the most trophies with three awards, as did acclaimed film “12 Years A Slave” which swept the film award categories. Pharrell Williams and August Alsina each won two awards.

The tribute to Richie included a presentation of classics “Hello” and “Still” by John Legend and a pulsating rendition of “Brick House” by Ledisi. Just before Richie came on stage to accept his award, Yolanda Adams delivered a soulful, inspired performance of “Jesus Is Love,” bringing the crowd to its feet (and some to tears!) and prompting Richie to admit he was “glad [he] sang the song first.” Richie showed off his own skills when he sat at the piano and serenaded the audience with “Easy,” then got the crowd dancing along to “All Night Long.”

Chris Brown made a triumphant return to the “BET Awards” stage that drew a standing ovation. He proved he hasn’t missed a beat delivering an incredible performance of “Loyal,” which was amped up even more with appearances by Lil Wayne, Tyga and Travis Barker.
