The new dance numbers celebrated the life of Mr. Alvin Ailey, with a musical soundtrack to Jazz artist Duke Ellington. This year’s dance ensemble included dancers from various backgrounds and races. The diversity of the dance company, has offered audiences a unique look to various dance forms, shapes, and styles brought to life on stage. It is a great eye popping, and insightful experience for all ages. This year tour celebrates diversity in dance, music, and culture.

During a matinee Q&A segment, the dancers shared inspirational comments and feedback to aspiring young dancers.  The rich history of the Alvin Ailey Dance Company has played a major role in the dancers’ decision in joining the world renowned company. One dancer shared that she would work in the theater in New York as an attendant, to get more familiar with the dance company. This allowed her to study the company’s style , and prepared her for audition, which worked perfectly.

The 2014  Alvin Ailey Dance Company North American Tour is one of the greatest dance experiences that one can view. The diversity of the show, the smooth moves, and the signature choreography is worth it.  You can see the following remaining dates of the 2014 Dance Tour below (It’s a must see!)

“Ailey strives to find new ways to be a beacon of artistic excellence and light,” said Robert Battle. “My amazing dancers surpass boundaries, embodying the vision of great choreographers to create something extraordinary. I am excited to share this season’s cornucopia of treasures with our Atlanta audience, as we continue to build upon Ailey’s rich history of inspiring all through dance.”

It’s Showtime…..
