A Conyers man has been arrested after he allegedly choked his daughter’s kitten in retaliation for her striking him while he was arguing with her mother.
Rockdale County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chad Edward Stuarte responded to a report of domestic violence at a home on Lakeshore Drive Friday around 10 p.m. When he arrived, he noticed that the victim had numerous injuries to her legs and chest area and had a mark under her left eye.
According to the victim, she and her husband, Timothy Lytle, began arguing when it turned to a physical altercation. At one point, as she approached the door, he threw her outside, which caused her to fall and injure her knees, the incident report states. Lytle also reportedly grabbed her and banged her head against the wall.
During the fight, the couple’s 8-year-old daughter got between them and she hit Lytle in the head with a cast on her arm, the Sheriff’s Office reported. According to the application for an arrest warrant, Lytle then hurt the family pet by “physically choking his daughter’s kitten by its neck in front of her after she hit him in the head with her cast trying to protect her mother.”
Witnesses at the scene indicated that both Lytle and the victim were involved in the physical altercation, but further investigation revealed that Lytle was the primary aggressor, said RCSO Investigator Michael Camp.
Lytle, 37, was arrested Sunday and charged with aggravated battery, cruelty to children, criminal trespass and cruelty to animals.
