New Music Tuesday: Pressure, Janet Jackson and J Cole

New Music Tuesday highlights new music from multicultural artists throughout the nation. This week we feature Pressure and Janet Jackson.

New Music Tuesday is sponsored by the Caribbean Media Network.

Pressure’s official music video for his single “Nuh Worry Yourself” premiered on Tempo’s Cross Caribbean Countdown. The video was shot on the island of St. Thomas, USVI, during this year’s carnival festivities and includes special guest appearances by Pressure’s friend Actor Malik Yoba and RHOA and former radio personality Claudia Jordan. Pressure is currently on first leg of his European tour and is finishing up his Lovers Rock album due out the top of 2016.

It’s been seven years since Janet Jackson released an album, but she’s back. “No Sleep” is the first taste of her upcoming album, Conversations In A Cafe, and it’s a slinky slow jam that gives off all sorts of Velvet Rope vibes.

The track is quietly sultry, leisurely bouncing on a groove as Jackson sings in a whisper about how, well, she and whoever she’s singing about aren’t going to be getting any sleep. The accompanying video, which features J. Cole and a verse that he contributed to the original, is pretty straightforward. Jackson walks through a dimly lit mansion, flirting with the camera and flitting in and out of some cool effects before meeting up with J. Cole for his lines.- la Music Blog
