This year’s Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue has featured diversity in this 50th annual issue. Hannah Davis from the USVI, is one of the four models, featured in the popular magazine. Davis grew up in Saint Thomas, in the U.S. Virgin Islands. She stated that the best part of growing up there was “the friendly people, great weather and waking up to the sound of the waves on the beach.
At 14 years old, Davis was discovered by family friend and model scout Ginny Edwards Maxwell, of Ginny Edwards Development, who signed her toIMG Models in New York and is still her mother agent.
Recently, she was linked to womanizer, and soon to be retired baseball player Derek Jeter, who reportedly has dumped model Hannah Davis, according to the New York Post. Jeter is 39 and Davis, the Sports Illustrated swimsuit model, is 23, and have a blossoming career.
There are three models on this year’s Anniversary cover instead of just a single bikini clad model. The 2014 Annual Swimsuit issue features former SI swimsuit models Chrissy Teigen (John Legend wife) and Nina Agdal, and newcomer Lily Aldridge — all wearing just their bikini bottoms. The ladies were announced on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” Thursday night. This issue also featured an African American model, Ariel Meredith .
The models did a promotion for air New Zealand, who is know for its creative safety videos. Air New Zealand is known for its quirky safety videos. In October it released one called “Safety Old School Style” with Betty White. Another featured a plane full of hobbits and other creatures from Middle Earth. The models were tastefuly featured throughout the video. Below is the video..
