Nicki Minaj and Safaree Samuels went from longtime lovers to bitter exes and suffered one of the nastiest breakups in hip-hop. A new report claims Samuels plans to reignite their feud with a lawsuit.
For those who don’t remember, earlier this year, Samuels claimed both in interviews and in songs that he had a major hand in helping Minaj with her music and that he even helped pen some of her songs.
Now, according to TMZ, sources say Samuels plans to sue Minaj for royalties from her three full-length studio albums, Pink Friday, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded, and The Pinkprint.
Sources also claim Samuels wants money from Minaj’s collaborations, like The Pinkprint records “Only,” which featured Drake, Chris Brown, and Lil Wayne, and “Feeling Myself,” which featured Beyoncé. Another track Samuels allegedly wants money for is Beyoncé’s “Flawless” remix, which featured Minaj.
A source claims Samuels isn’t just coming to court with a bunch of accusations. Samuels will reportedly present footage of him working with Minaj on music, as well as voice memos from recording sessions. The source claims Samuels will also present several witnesses to prove that he was a major contributor to Minaj’s music.
Samuels reportedly will also use the fact that Minaj named him as executive producer of her first two albums as proof that he had a heavy hand in her music.
Samuels has allegedly already secured lawyers and sources say that a lawsuit against Minaj is “imminent.”
Boy George is playing with
fire Purple Rain….
The always controversial Boy George is making headlines over a bold claim he made during live auditions of BBC1’s “The Voice, which suggested he’s slept with Prince.
Sources tell The Sun the audience went “absolutely wild” and producers were forced to stop filming to restore order on set. Here’s how it all went down:
“Boy George made his comment about the legendary Purple Rain singer in an exchange with fellow judge Paloma Faith.
The stars, who joined Will.i.am and Kaiser Chiefs’ frontman Ricky Wilson on the judging panel this year, were boasting about who they had collaborated with.
The Karma Chameleon hitmaker started it, saying: ‘I have duetted with some of the greatest soul singers in history including Luther Vandross and Smokey Robinson.’
Paloma replied: ‘Well OK, if we’re throwing big soul names out there I’ve performed with Prince.’
To which George retorted: ‘Forget that, darling, I’ve slept with Prince.'”
After being spoken to by the production crew, Boy George began to backtrack on his remarks, saying that he never slept with Prince but had his poster on the wall. Nice save?
Prince has yet to respond to Boy George’s statements.
It seems that Chris Brown has some things on his mind. His recent twitter beef with Model Tyson Beckford, which was not supported by his fans, may have lead to this open letter.
I always thought I knew the concept of love. Fame and Money can get in the way of that. Most of my issues always deal with love and me being in my feelings. Not to mention me being a dog sometimes. I can’t speak for everyone but I can say that my actions contributed a lot to my karma. Being jealous and angry and controlling. There has been times where I looked in the mirror and hated the person I see. I talk to God a lot now. He’s given me so much and I feel like I waste his gifts becuz of my impulsive personality. The world is full of negativity and I feel I play a part in it becuz of the choices I’ve made or mistakes. I tend to accept the negative or the riff raff becuz I know what it’s like to be a young black “nigga” in America. I always see the good in people even when they don’t see it. I love others more than myself at times. Everything u see on the surface does not reflect what’s inside. This is my white flag. I surrender to life and all its blessings. I refuse to be petty and attention seeking. To know me is to love me. Good Bad UGLY!
It seems that BET has won the case, brought forth by blogger B Scott. It was apparent that B Scott was given a unique opportunity to be a style correspondent for the BET Awards Red Carpet in June of 2013. Although, guidelines of the dress code was not relayed to BScott, BET who has a large Christian following on Sunday’s, removed him of the set and simply asked him to change his attire, to a more conservative suit. Hence, the moment when all the drama began about race and gender came into to play, although BET was giving him a unique opportunity in front of millions of viewers.
Scott has claimed that his original outfit, a flowing tunic, flowing hair, heels and makeup, were all approved by BET in advance. However, after appearing in only one segment of the show, BET pulled Scott from the air and forced him to change to a more masculine outfit.
After filing a lawsuit against the network back in August, things seemed to be moving in Scott’s favor when emails from BET’s president, Stephen Hill, and his staff showed them making disparaging remarks about Scott’s appearance and even trying to cover up the scandal by making him the villain.
But according to TMZ, a judge recently ruled in BET’s favor and dismissed Scott’s lawsuit. The judge ruled that BET has the First Amendment right to control their shows, including the appearance of their hosts, as they see fit.
“It disheartens me that the message sent today wasn’t a message of acceptance, but rather it’s acceptable to discriminate against transgender individuals on the basis of their gender identity and expression,” Scott told TMZ.
Despite the loss in court, B. Scott’s lawyer plans to appeal the case.
MADD FACTOR: Although BET handled the situation, in a less than professional manner with the back and forth emails. It is clear the judge saw what I saw at the event. BScott change of clothing was effective, professional, and reflected the tone of the show. It is a BET production, not BScott production, hence the verdict. WARNING:BET be very careful who you’ll hire!
