The 2015 UNCF Mayor’s Mask Ball at the beautiful Atlanta Marriott Marquis. The 32 Annual UNCF Mayor’s Masked Ball, raised over 1 million dollars toward college scholarships.
The annual black tie event brings out the Who’s Who of the Atlanta community. Atlanta was the first city to host the annual celebration to benefit the United Negro College Fund. Every year the elegant affair features business professionals, government officials, and celebs from across the nation.
This year, UNCF has raised over 100 million dollars towards higher education, with approximately more than 10% going to students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) in the Atlanta area.
The ball began with a royal VIP reception, in a full draped ball room, which seem to mimic scenes from Hollywood block busters such as the Hunger Games, which was ironically filmed at the same hotel.
Atlanta is known for it’s diverse community, so the attendance list reflected it this year. In attendance were the Presidents of Spelman college, Morehouse College, executives from SunTrust Home Depot, and many more. Guests were entertained by R&B veteran Johnny Gill.
