Young Thug has reportedly been named alongside Birdman in an indictment that alleges their involvement in a conspiracy to kill Lil Wayne in April. That month Lil Wayne’s tour-bus was shot at while the rapper and several others departed from a show in Atlanta.
Prosecutors allege Williams, Winfrey, Lil Wayne and Cash Money Records CEO and co-founder Bryan “Birdman” Williams, 46, are all members of the notorious west coast Bloods street gang.
Prosecutors cite Williams’ “Halftime” music video as well as his lyrics as evidence of the plot to kill Lil Wayne.
Young Thug was taken down by the U.S. Marshals Wednesday morning after allegedly threatening to kill a mall cop. The 23-year-old rapper, whose birth name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, was arrested without incident around 6 a.m. at a residence in Sandy Springs, according to Jim Joyner, spokesman for the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force. The U.S. Marshals were helping Dunwoody police serve a warrant charging Williams with terroristic threats.
Dunwoody Police Department spokesman Officer Timothy Fecht said the charges were the product of a July 7 “dispute that Mr. Williams had with Perimeter Mall security.”
Thug left before cops arrived and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The incident occurred last week, but it took until today for U.S. Marshals to track him down at a home outside the ATL and hook him up.
Y.T. is currently at the Dekalb County Jail.
